The town of Oban is surrounded by miles of dramatic coastline and beautiful countryside, so any visit must include the wider Oban & Lorn area which has must visit places such as Appin to the north, Loch Awe to east, and Kilmartin Glen to the south.

As a major port, the picturesque Oban bay is busy with Calmac ferries shuttling to many of the Inner and Outer Hebridean Islands. The nearby islands of Kerrera and Lismore are gateway to island-hopping and perfect for walking and cycling.
